New UNBA Executive Officers Sworn In

The United Nigerians Brandon Association (UNBA) has inaugurated its new executive team in a formal swearing-in ceremony this past week.

The newly appointed officers who will lead the association’s next phase of growth are:

  • President: Hosteen Bungon
  • General Secretary: Olawunmi Subair
  • Financial Secretary: Benjamin Ebose
  • Treasurer: Abiodun Emma-Kueyinde
  • Publicity Secretary: Olaide Adewuyi “Bushra”

The association acknowledged the contributions of past volunteers and sponsors whose support built UNBA’s foundation.

The ceremony marks a new chapter of unity and progress for the Nigerian community organization.

2025 Annual Nigerian Independence Day Flag Raising Ceremony

On Monday, October 6, the Nigerian community in Brandon gathered at City Hall for a solemn flag-raising ceremony to mark Nigeria’s Independence Day.

The event was graced by the presence of the Mayor of Brandon, alongside UNBA Executives, Board Members, and members of the local Nigerian community. The ceremony served as a proud celebration of national heritage and community spirit.

Naija Summer Fest. 2025 Brandon

A premier cultural movement for Nigerians in Brandon, our flagship summer event served as a platform to reconnect, celebrate, and network. It reminded us of our roots and heritage as Nigerians, united both at home and abroad. The event featured an exciting mix of games, competitions, fashion, food, and live music, attracting over 800 attendee,s including Nigerians and friends from other nationalities. It provided a valuable opportunity for sponsors to connect with a diverse and engaged audience.

UNBA and Manitoba Residential Tenancies Branch Seminar

The UNBA Nigerians Brandon and Manitoba Residential Tenancies Board hosted an informative seminar designed especially for Nigerians in Brandon. This session was ideal for newcomers who were tenants and those transitioning to landlords, providing valuable insights on tenant rights, responsibilities, and the rental process in Manitoba. Attendees connected with the community and gained essential knowledge to navigate their housing journey confidently.

UNBA’s Career Success Symposium 2024 in Brandon, Manitoba, offered invaluable career insights from HR professionals on topics such as Job Search, Resume Writing, Mentorship, Cultural Adaptability, and Interview Techniques. The event was held on August 24th at the Riverbank Discovery Centre.
